Amarnath “Pilgrimages”. Its actual meaning “is to pay homage to lord Amarnathji”. Lord Amarnathji located at an altitude of 14000 feet from sea level in South west Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Lord Amarnath is the other name of “Lord Shiva”. There is a big story behind this name Amarnath Ji , its location & the holy cave at 14000 feet where lord Amarnath ji resides during sawan month in the form of Icelingam . It Is also believed that Adi guru Shankaracharya ji also visited this place in Ancient times. The name of Places, Pahalgam, Chandanwari, Sheshnag, Panchtarni are related to Nandi Maharaj, Moon, Naag Devta & five elements of Life respectively.

This is very interesting story. At Holy cave where lord Amarnath ji resides there is also two pigeons who resides from Ancient times.

This year Amarnath Pilgrimages 2013 is scheduled to Start from 1 Jul-31Aug 2023. Registration started from 17th April . CHC Medical started from 16th April 2023.

To Perform the homage you need to make Medical certificate from approved doctor first then get online & offline permit from the Amarnath organizing authority and then collect RFID card after biometric verification.

Helicopter facility is also available from Srinagar, Pahalgam and Neelgrath route. Nearest Trekking Point from Jammu is Pahalgam Chandanwari route and from Srinagar Domail Baltal route.
